Your Pet's First Visit
A pet's first visit to the vet can seem a bit daunting, so we've put together a list of info and resources to help you prepare.
At your first appointment, we will gather information about your pet’s background, health, diet, and training. We can also address any questions or concerns you might have.
Your veterinarian will examine your pet from nose-to-tail, looking for things like heart murmurs, ear infections, and/or parasites. Your vet can also provide pet-proofing tips, training assistance, and parasite protection recommendations.

Appointment Policies
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your pet's appointment for check-in. If you have not filled out all relevant patient forms yet, plan to arrive 10 minutes ahead of your appointment.
While we do our best to make sure all of our patients are seen on time, there will be times of occasional unexpected delay due to an emergency or because we are providing care for a patient that needs a little more time. Please accept our apologies should this occur, and understand that the same dedication and courtesy will be provided to your pet should they ever need it.
"Dr. Heather, my doggies vet tech (she is the Dog Whisperer!) and all of the staff at Columbus Countryside Vet are absolutely wonderful. From the moment I took my furry baby Sutton into the exam room, both he and I were made to feel at ease. Sutton is a rescue, only rescues for me, and can be a bit apprehensive. Our Dog Whisperer was amazing!! He was so comfortable with her, it was a joy to see. Dr. Heather is fantastic. With my Sutton's apprehension of being touched in certain areas, both Dr. Heather and our vet tech put Sutton at ease and it was just wonderful to see him so calm. Dr. Heather never made us feel rushed, she and our vet tech took all of the time needed to explain, assist and recommend at home methods to help Sutton become more comfortable and less apprehensive. I am a dog lover and have worked with Sutton since his rescue to make sure he knows he is in his forever home. The one thing, clipping his nails, that I have struggled with, both he and I are working on successfully thanks to Dr. Heather and Suttons Vet Tech. Thank you to everyone at Columbus Countryside, both Sutton and I have our forever Vet Clinic."
